Open house: The village and Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) will hold an open house for the public to review the Lakemoor comprehensive plan under development through the Local Technical Assistance program Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at Lakemoor Police Station’s Community Room, 27901 Concrete Drive, through Dec. 13. Dinner: North Chicago residents and their families are invited to the citywide Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 17 from 3 to 6 p.m. at North Chicago High School, 1717 17th St. The Thanksgiving dinner is free in honor of senior citizens and war veterans. Auction: St. Patrick School in Wadsworth will host its 19th annual Auction Nov. 10 at the schools, 15020 Wadsworth Road. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets at the door are $30. Over 400 silent auction items and 50 live auction items up for bidding, including classroom projects, weekend getaways, sporting events, dinners, theater tickets, sports memorabilia a “ride along” with a Winthrop Harbor police officer, four tickets to Cub’s opening day 2013, a nine-week old Goldendoodle puppy and more. Live bidding begins at 7:30 pm. Ticket price includes appetizers, dinner and dessert. There will be a cash bar.
Forum: “Address the Candidates Forum” is set for Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at 1 N. Genesee St., Room 325, third floor. Candidates for the office of president are Robette Tolden-Willimas and Jennifer Witherspoon. Branch election will be held during the regular monthly meeting which will be held Nov. 27.
Dinner: Zion Park District will host its annual family-style Senior Thanksgiving Luncheon Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Shiloh Center, 2600 Emmaus. Tickets are $9 and include turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread, drink and pumpkin pie. Advance purchase of tickets are recommended, though there will be some tickets available at the door. Tickets may be purchased by visiting the Zion Park District, 2400 Dowie Memorial Drive.
