Dinner: Antioch will host its annual Thanksgiving community dinner Nov. 17 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Antioch Senior Center, 817 Holbek Drive. The traditional Thanksgiving dinner is free for the public. Surrounding community residents are also welcome. Desserts may be donated to the Antioch Senior Center by Nov. 16 before noon. Registration: The Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County (SRACLC) has released the Winter 2012-2013 Brochure. SRACLC provides recreation opportunities for individuals with special needs and their families residing within the boundaries of the member agencies. The brochure can be found at local park districts and recreation departments as well as online at www.sraclc.org. The registration deadline for these programs is Nov. 19. Author visit: Lecture and book signing with Martha Curry, author of “Barat College: A Legacy, a Spirit, and a Name,” will be held Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart, 760 E. Westleigh Road. Sister Curry, a Religious of the Sacred Heart, is an alumna, former faculty member and former member of the Board of Trustees of Barat College. The event is sponsored by the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society. Tickets are $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers and includes a copy of the book. Recycle: A Community Recycling event will be held Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Belvidere Park, Lewis Avenue and Belvidere Road. Electronics accepted from Waukegan residents include: CRT monitors, computer towers and laptops, small household appliances, telephones, cellphones, ink cartridges, printers, television, stereos, VCRs and DVD players. Other items include: holiday lights, eyeglasses, athletic shoes and household batteries. There will be activities provided by Cool Learning Experience Group, the Citizens Advisory Group and SWALCO.
