Emily Palm, currently an assistant to the city manager in Highland Park, has been named Lindenhurst’s assistant village administrator, it was announced Tuesday.
Over the past five years working in Highland Park, Palm has been responsible for the oversight of the city’s communication and media relations efforts, coordinated the city’s electric aggregation program, and the development of various environmental initiatives.
Palm, selected from a field of more than 50 applicants, has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Marquette University in Milwaukee, and a master’s degree in public administration from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.
In her new post, she will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of various operating areas, economic development and business retention, human resources, financial management and reporting, and risk management. Palm will begin in Lindenhurst Dec. 17
“We are confident Emily Palm possesses the experience and energy to be our next assistant village administrator,” said Mayor Susan Lahr.
“We are very excited to have Emily on our team.”
Palm replaces Karl Warwick, who held the position since 2009. He left in September to become the village administrator for Fox River Grove in McHenry County.
