Landscaper accused of child sex assault

A Waukegan man was indicted by a Lake County grand jury for allegedly committing multiple sex acts with a minor child.
Geovani Torrez, 21, was indicted Wednesday on four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
He is accused of committing sex acts with a female who was under the age of 13.
The dates of the alleged offenses are from Aug. 1 to Nov. 9, according to court records.
The victim’s mother was the one who called authorities, according to Waukegan Police Cmdr. Gabe Guzman.
Torrez faces up to 30 years in prison for the predatory criminal sexual assault charge and three to seven years in prison for the aggravated criminal sexual abuse charge.
He has two criminal cases pending, according to court records.
He was arrested for theft in North Chicago on March 18, 2011 and was arrested for battery in Waukegan on Jan. 31.
Both those pending cases are due for status Dec. 6.
Torrez is also due for arraignment on the new charges Dec. 6.
