Reception: Patty Turner Center will hold a wine and cheese reception as Frank J. Pirri introduces his ‘Winter’ Series Dec. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 375 Elm St. Pirri is a longtime Deerfield resident, former corporate CEO and entrepreneur turned artist as of six years ago. Contest: At the recent Libertyville tree lighting ceremony, Dennis Ansay, a member of MainStreet’s Design Committee announced the winners of the downtown holiday window display contest. The winner in the retail business category was Someone’s in the Kitchen featuring a gingerbread Cook Mansion. The winner for the service business was Allure Designs in Beauty at their new location at 521 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Park City
New street lights: The City Council has authorized an expenditure of nearly $42,000 to purchase and install six additional streets lights in the Greenleaf Avenue Corridor. Aldermen also have abated $79,175 in debt service on a $1 million general obligation bond used to purchase the City Hall facilities.
