WAUKEGAN — A resident of the Hickory Hills Drive apartments was arrested for allegedly dealing drugs after police received a tip from a resident in the neighborhood, authorities said Thursday.
Members of the Waukegan Police Gang Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant, that led to drugs, cash and ammunition, at 4202 Hickory Hills Drive, Apartment 109, and arrested Daniel Rios, 26.
Police on Tuesday found nine grams of cocaine, five grams of cannabis, drug paraphernalia, ammunition and $468 in cash.
Rios was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon. His bond was set at $25,000.
Rios had a previous felony burglary conviction on his record besides other arrests.
“No drug dealer is too large or too small. As far as I’m concerned, every drug dealer in our city is a target for our Gang Intelligence Unit. Please keep those tips coming,” Police Chief Daniel Greathouse said.
