Driver charged with DUI in three-car crash

GRANT TOWNSHIP — A Round Lake man has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with the three-car accident that closed down Wilson Road last week.
Estevan Salinas, 22, of the 200 Block of South Berkley Drive, Round Lake, was charged with DUI, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Salinas was driving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra northbound on Wilson Road when he allegedly sideswiped a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt about a quarter-mile south of Route 134, causing it to spin and go into the ditch. A 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck following the Cobalt then slammed into the Elantra.
The Dec. 28 accident closed Wilson Road for several hours while the accident was cleaned up and the injured taken to the hospital.
