Holiday crackdown nets 44 tickets

GURNEE — Police recently concluded a holiday crackdown on seatbelt usage and driving under the influence where officers made one drug/DUI arrest and wrote 30 citations for no seatbelts.
Funded through a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation and the National Highway Safety Administration Gurnee police had seven extra deployments besides regular patrols. There were 39 extra hours worked by eight officers who stopped 35 vehicles.
There were two speeding tickets issued and a total of 42 citations altogether. The number of patrol miles was 256.
