Mother, son plead not guilty to drug-induced homicide

An Ingleside man pleaded not guilty Thursday to drug-induced homicide.
Brian Stedronsky, 32, faces six to 30 years in prison if he is convicted, Lake County Judge Christopher Stride said.
His mother, Carolyn Stedronsky, 51, also of Ingleside, pleaded not guilty to the same charges before Stride Tuesday.
Their criminal charges come from the death of Ingleside man Jeffrey Ferris, 30, who died of an overdose in September.
Brian told authorities that he bought Fentanyl patches from his mother and then sold them to Ferris.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opiate more potent than morphine used to treat patients with severe pain, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
Authorities said Carolyn got the medication from her husband and sold it to her son.
She had said at a previous court hearing that she was her husband’s caretaker.
Their trials were scheduled for Jan. 28.
Both are due back in court Jan. 24.
Carolyn is in custody at Lake County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond. Brian is in custody at Lake County Jail in lieu of $300,000 bond.
