Fair: Woodland School District 50’s Middle School will hold its Science Fair Open House Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Middle School, 7000 Washington St. The purpose of the science fair is to give seventh grade students the opportunity to explore their interest in a scientific way. Forty judges consisting of parents and members of the community from various companies and other organizations will be volunteering their time. Details, (847) 596-5604.

Round Lake Beach

Sessions: Parents, school staff, and community members are invited to attend issues-oriented information sessions on the school-based health center to be constructed at Round Lake Senior High School Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. and Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. at Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center, 2007 N. Civic Center Way. The Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to construct the health center that will provide comprehensive primary care and behavioral health care to the approximately 2,000 students of the school.
