On Friday, Jan. 11, the Waukegan Police Department paid homage to to Sgt. Peter Michaels by flying the flag at half-staff and hanging drapes over the entrance of the building.
The well-respected police officer was found dead in woods north of Antioch and near his home Thursday morning in what is an apparent suicide.
