Island Lake man charged with teen sex assault

ISLAND LAKE — A 23-year-old man arrested by Island Lake police is being held on $500,000 bond for a sex assault against a minor.
Police said Monday a single parent reported to them they were suspicious of a man’s possible inappropriate act with their teenage child. On Jan. 13, police carried out a search warrant on a home in the 3000 block of Poplar Street in Island Lake and detained Adaberto Saenz-Garcia.
He was later charged with criminal sexual assault. Police also seized digital forms of media and submitted them to the Lake County Cybercrimes Unit for digital forensic recovery, police said.
Police said Saenz-Garcia has no ties to Island Lake and came to the area via Chicago and Mexico.
