Book signing: Local author Devon Nelson will sign copies of her latest book, “Bitter Can Taste Oh So Sweet,” from 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 2 at The England Manor, 503 N. Genesee St., Waukegan. Nelson, of Waukegan, is a former staff writer for the Lake County News-Sun. The new book is a sequel to “The Bitter and Sweet Around Me,” published in 2011. Nelson will also be featured at a book-signing to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 16 at Wine Knows, 1130 E. Washington St., Grayslake.

Donations: The Zion Park District Foundation is received a $2,500 donation from AT&T. Susan Link of AT&T, in making the presentation, said that “AT&T is thrilled to support the Zion Park District Foundation as an organization whose purpose and goals closely align with those of AT&T. I appreciate the help of State Rep.
