Burglary: Two vehicles had items stolen from inside between 6:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. at X-Sport Fitness, 1163 S. Milwaukee Ave. One of the vehicles was locked and a front passenger window was shattered to gain entry. Missing was a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop in a faux snake skin case, a Relica black and white checkered purse, a paisley print wallet and a silver watch, along with ID, cash and credit cards. Another vehicle, which had been unlocked, had its stereo removed and a gear shift knob was stolen.
Warrant arrest: Daniel Ortiz, 31, of 638 S. Dilger Ave., Waukegan was arrested at the Jewel/Osco store, 1300 S. Milwaukee Ave., after police were called there for another matter. A records check showed Ortiz was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court on a driving while suspended charge.
Warrant arrest: Richard Sireei, 20, of 2740 Delaware Lane, Lindenhurst, was arrested as a result of an ongoing investigation that resulted in a warrant for criminal sexual abuse. His bond was set at $50,000.
Scam: A Lincolnshire resident in the 400 block of Village Green reported that she received a telephone call that she had won a lottery and just needed to send $1,000 to claim the winnings. After sending the money and not hearing from the lottery, she realized she was scammed and called police. Police remind people to never send money to claim a prize.
DUI: Scott De Persio, 31, 10 Woodhead Drive, Lake Villa, was arrested and charged with DUI over legal limit, improper use of horn, following too closely, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, and illegal transportation of liquor. He has a hearing at Waukegan court house Feb. 19.
