Details are limited concerning a fatal crash on I-94 Sunday, Sept. 15, near Grayslake that left an 18-year Wheaton man dead.
Illinois State Police Master Sergeant Sergio Ortiz said the accident occurred around 7:13 p.m. near Route 120. Andrew Wilcox was driving a silver 2004 Nissan coupe eastbound when it apparently went off the roadway and hit a fence. A passenger inside the vehicle was treated and released at the scene.
The victim was pronounced dead at Advocate Medicl Center, Libertyville, and the Lake County Coroner’s office said he died of massive injuries and a preliminary toxicology screening was negative for alcohol and drugs.
