Fundraiser: “Look into the Future... One Child at a Time” is Mothers Trust Foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year. The Betty Bash will be held Oct. 25 at Lake Forest College, 555 N. Sheridan Road. Bring your sisters, mothers, coworkers and girlfriends and enjoy a wonderful evening of mystical fun while supporting Mothers Trust’s mission of meeting critical needs of Lake County’s most disadvantaged children.
The evening’s entertainment will include magicians, tarot card readers, games and a DJ. There will be 20 local restaurants from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and the surrounding communities providing tastes of their signature dishes, with complimentary drinks included. There will also be a silent auction as well as an “auction” of actual cases, thanks to the generosity of supporters.
Mothers Trust Foundation provides emergency assistance to children in Lake County. Tickets are $90 until Oct. 14; $110 thereafter. Purchase tickets online at www.motherstrustfoundation.org, or by calling (847) 482-9189.
Open house: Libertyville Fire Department will hold its annual open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at 1551 N. Milwaukee Ave. There will be tours, demonstrations and interactive activities. Also, the winner of this year’s poster contest, ‘Prevent Kitchen Fires,’ will be announced. For more information, call (847) 362-8829.
