Funeral services for state Rep. Mark Beaubien will be Friday in Barrington.
Beaubien, 68, of Barrington Hills, died suddenly Sunday while attending a Republican Party fund-raiser at Arlington Park racetrack.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anne Church, 120 Ela St., Barrington. A reception for close family and friends will follow the Mass.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m., Thursday at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake.
Burial will be private in White Memorial Cemetery, Barrington.
Beaubien was an assistant House Republican leader, serving as a state representative in the 52nd House District since his appointment in 1996 to fill a vacancy. He was re-elected to six additional two-year terms.
Prior to becoming a state legislator, Beaubien was a Lake County Board member and Cuba Township supervisor from 1992 to 1996. He was born Oct. 30, 1942 in Waukegan.
He was involved in numerous civic organizations and groups, and was a member of the Lake County and Illinois State bar associations. He received his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in 1964 and his law degree from the Northwestern University School of Law in 1967.
Survivors include his widow, Dee; two sons, Mark and Bob; and five grandchildren.
