St. Peter Catholic Church celebrates 50th rummage sale

Updated: August 15, 2011 12:17AM

For 50 years, St. Peter Church has provided a great place for bargain hunters to find treasures for a “steal.” For many years it gained the reputation as the second largest rummage sale in Lake County.

To celebrate the golden anniversary, all the stops have been pulled out. St. Peter School is jammed with household items, furniture, clothing, sporting goods, electronics, appliances, tools, linen, jewelry, antiques, books, boats and other “treasures.”

A Bridal Boutique will be introduced this year featuring 25 brand new bridal gowns along with mother-of-the-bride and cocktail dresses, dress shoes and jewelry.

The sale will run June 16 and 17 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and June 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m., super reductions will be made during a Bag Sale. Rain or shine, the rummage sale takes place in St. Peter School, located behind the church at 556 Lake St., Antioch, just north of the intersection of routes 59 and 173.
