Lake Bluff woman dies in crash

DEERFIELD — A Lake Bluff woman was killed Monday morning after her car lost control on westbound Interstate 94 near Deerfield Road and struck a barrier wall.

Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey said 45-year-old Regina Medvedovskaya, who lived on the 3300 block of Stratford Court, was pronounced dead around 10:43 a.m. at Highland Park Hospital, about 20 minutes after the accident.

A spokesman for the Illinois State Police District 15 said Medvedovskaya lost control of her vehicle for an unknown reason and struck the rear tandem axle of a semi-trailer truck. The collision sent her vehicle across adjoining lanes of traffic and into a wall.

Yancey said Medvedovskaya suffered multiple trauma. The driver of the semi was unhurt.
