BUFFALO GROVE — A Waukegan man faces an Oct. 19 court date after having a really bad day at the office.
First, a female co-worker spurned his romantic ideas, then he got fired and then he caused a crash while driving drunk, Buffalo Grove police said.
Christopher Villereal, 26, of 2226 Alta Vista Drive, Waukegan, showed up to his job at a marketing firm in the 1400 block of McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove with alcohol on his breath Tuesday, police said.
That afternoon, he and a young woman he worked with went to lunch together. As she drove back after eating, police said, Villereal had an idea.
“Villereal said they should ‘pull over and make out’,” the investigating officer stated in his report. “(The woman) told him that wouldn’t happen.”
Finding her response rather drab, Villereal fell asleep in the woman’s car, according to police. She informed their boss of his behavior and the boss fired him.
“On the way out, Villereal threw a drink against the wall in the stairwell,” though the police report did not specify what that drink was.
“They could smell alcohol on Villereal’s breath during the incident,” police noted.
Villereal drove away and allegedly caused a crash on McHenry Road, north of Lake-Cook Road. Officers arrested him and charged him with DUI and driving too fast for conditions.
He has an Oct. 19 court appearance Lake County Circuit Court in Waukegan.
