The Beach Park Band Boosters will be hosting their second annual Spaghetti Dinner fund-raiser from 5 to 8 p.m., Jan. 26.
This year, the goal is to help provide Beach Park Middle School Band members with new uniforms, as the uniforms currently used were purchased in 1977.
The spaghetti dinner was first held in 2010 at N & T’s Family Restaurant in Zion. The Best Western at the Market Square on Sheridan Road in Zion has donated its facilities for this year’s event, with N & T’s catering the dinner at the new location.
First-time, “This event is not only one of our most successful fund-raising events, but it is also a great learning experience for all of the students involved in its success,” Tina Goglin, Band Booster president, said. “Students participate on many different levels, including the selling of raffle tickets, admittance tickets to the dinner, helping with serving at the dinner, in addition to providing musical entertainment for those in attendance.
“Community is an important sentiment for young people to embrace and these local businesses set a shining example for them,” Goglin added,
The dinner will be taking place from 5 to 8 p.m. To purchase tickets or for more information, contact the Beach Park Middle School Band line at (847) 596-5803.
The Band Boosters are comprised of volunteers who donate their time to help provide support for the band program for Beach Park schools.
