Chicagoan accused of sex with teen

LIBERTYVILLE — A Chicago man is being held on a half a million dollar bond after he was arrested for criminal sexual abuse after meeting a Libertyville juvenile online and allegedly having sex with her in Libertyville and Fond du Lac, Wis.

Jack Cartlidge, 30, was charged Monday with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, and traveling to a meet a minor by Libertyville police working in conjunction with Wisconsin authoritiese.

Police began investigating after a Libertyville father complained to police about Cartlidge’s inappropriate relationship online with his juvenile daughter. Further investigation revealed he went to Fond du Lac and Libertyville to engage in sexual acts with the juvenile, police said.

He is being held on $500,000 bond in Lake County jail. Charges of sexual assault are also pending in Wisconsin, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Lake County court Feb. 21.
