GAGES LAKE — A 60-year-old social worker at Cyd Lash Academy was arrested for rubbing the shoulders and squeezing the hip of a 19-year-old student, authorities said Wednesday.
The student at the school, 18042 Gages Lake Road, told officials John Gulino rubbed her shoulders, grabbed and squeezed her hip, then rubbed his private parts against her body, according to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. It happened in a classroom during the school day.
The school administration immediately notified the Sheriff’s Office after learning of the allegation on Oct. 18, authorities said. Gulino, of Algonquin, was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
He was charged with three counts of battery, all Class A misdemeanors, and was released after posting 10 percent of a $10,000 bond, authorities said.
The high school is part of the Special Education District of Lake County.
