More than 115 hopeful ballerinas from ages 10 to 18 gathered at Ballet Chicago on North State Street Sunday, Jan. 6, to audition for a five-week summer course at the School of American Ballet, the official academy of the New York City Ballet. Chicago was one of 20 cities the auditions will take place for the more than 200 spots open for the classes.
