A sock hop was held at Gurnee’s Prairie Trail School on Wadsworth Road. The dance was actually a drive to collect pairs of socks or money to buy socks to be donated to the Open Arms Mission’s Socks for the Soul project, which provides warm socks for local families needing a little extra help during the cold months of the winter.
