A Gary man is the second player to claim a $100,000 top-prize on the new Hoosier Lottery “Scratch-off Winning in Spades.”
Richard Abram made the trip to Indianapolis immediately after purchasing his winning ticket Wednesday in East Chicago. He purchased his ticket at Broadway Food Shop at 1605 Broadway, scratched it off and grabbed his wife and headed to Hoosier Lottery headquarters to get his check.
“Thing is, people don’t think these types of big tickets are in this area,” said Abram. “My thing is, I won $1,000 here — twice — already!”
Abram said he plans to give most of his winnings to his wife, Alicia. All he wants out of it is a car. The couple have been sharing one car for a couple years.
