If you enjoy ice skating, the RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie is the place to be from 11:45 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
That’s when there will be free public skating at the indoor rink, an event held as part of Skatefest, which is being held because February is National Skating Month.
There also will free group lessons. Skate rental is $3.
A figure-skating exhibition will be held at the end of the free skate.
Skatefest was initiated as a way for parents to learn if their children have an interest in the sport of figure skating.
Brian Luburich of the RecPlex said, “Skatefest is a great way for kids to discover skating in a fun and encouraging environment. Whether aiming for Olympic fame or skating for fun, Skatefest is a great way to get started.”
Concessions will be available for purchase.
To get to the RecPlex, take Route 41 north into Wisconsin and exit Route 165 going east. When you see Prairie Springs Park on your left, turn in there.
