Inclement weather forced the cancellation of Saturday’s second/final round of the state boys and girls golf tournaments, meaning Friday’s scores will stand as the state-final results.
That means Stevenson High School senior Stephanie Miller won the individual title in the girls big-school competition.
It also means Ian Kelsey of Deerfield is a co-champ in the boys big-school tournament.
Kelsey shot a 71 in Friday’s first round and shared the lead with Jack Junge of New Trier.
The Saturday rainout means that Hinsdale Central is the team champion, ending Lake Forest’s two-year run. The Scouts finished ninth, 13 shots behind the new champions. Naperville North and Lyons of LaGrange finished 2-3.
Miller shot a 71 on Friday, which was a shot ahead of two players.
This was her second state championship as she also won as a sophomore in 2010.
New Trier won the team championship for girls, eight shots clear of Prospect.
