Tryout dates set for Waukegan’s feeder boys travel program

Updated: November 18, 2012 6:26AM

Boys basketball players currently in grades 6-8 who attend schools that feed into Waukegan High should circle Oct. 27-28 on their calendars or make a note on their iPhones.

Those are the tryout dates for the Waukegan Feeder Basketball Program. There will be separate teams for each school grade.

Tryouts are from 4-6 P.m. on both Oct. 27 and 28 at Waukegan High School’s Dog Pound (Washington & Jackson).

This is the second year for the Waukegan Feeder Basketball Program.

Players who make the team will practice three times per week, have study table twice a week, and play other Feeder Basketball Programs on weekends.

This is a perfect way for a young player to hone his skills if he wants to someday play hoops for the Waukegan Bulldogs.

Waukegan High School varsity basketball coach Ron Ashlaw is involved in the program, as is Jim Ross.
