Two College of Lake County women runners have qualified Saturday NJCAA National Meet.
Stefani Canadzic (Grayslake Central High grad) and Lauren Hallendorff (Vernon Hills) placed in the top 20 at the Region 4 meet held at Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon and that earned them what amounts to a short trip to the national championships.
They will compete for the national title on Nov. 10 in Rend Lake in southern Illinois.
“We are extremely proud of Stefani and Lauren,” said CLC coach Steve Blomgren. “These two women have worked hard consistently all season to get where they are now.
“They had to catch several competitors who had beaten them earlier this season and they never gave up. They will continue to work the next two weeks and they will once again improve on their personal-best performances.”
CLC did not have enough women runners to be a factor in team competitions this season.
