BOYS BASKETBALL

Carmel 70, Vernon Hills 44: The Corsairs are now 3-1 on the season and play at Huntley on Friday night.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Grayslake North 48, Hampshire 40: On Tuesday, the Knights won their Fox Valley Fox opener on the road. Kendall Detweiler had 16 points, Brittney Thibeaux a dozen, and Emily Dugan bombed home three three-pointers in the win.

GIRLS BOWLING

Warren 2,670, Round Lake 1,942: On Tuesday, Ariel Haith had 216-210-256—682 for the Blue Devils in their victory. Jamie Bratzice had a 213 game. For Round Lake, Sarah Steele had a 475 series and Sara Milianti a 409.

Antioch 2,649, Lake Zurich 2,340: On Tuesday, Sam Scoggin had 248-201-155—604 to lead the Sequoits to victory. Katarina Brooks had a 210 game and 561 series in the win. Dana Sikorski had a 203 game for the Bears.

Stevenson 2,402, Vernon Hills 2,136: Vernon Hills’ best was a 440 series by Meghan Calderone. Ashley Wittert had a 552 for the winners.

WRESTLING

Lakes 52, Marian Central 27: The Eagles are 3-0 in meets this year and face Round Lake on Friday.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS

Deerfield 131.45, Vernon Hills 126.35: Christine Stitcher of Deerfield won the all-around at 8.988. She won beam with 9.4 and tied for first on floor at 9.0. Vernon Hills’ Ali Tran won vault (9.5) and bars (9.1) but was in the 7s on the beam.
