Vernon Hills 2,783, Grant 2,672: Eric Swanson had 210-232-197—639 for the winners. Domenic Brugioni had 243-191-170—604 and Mitch Norris had a 252 game for Grant.
GIRLS BOWLING
Grayslake North 2,690, Woodstock 2,259: Sarah Littleton had 193-188-223—604 and Catherine Kowalski had 203-158-213—574 to lead the Knights.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Warren 41, Lake Zurich 23: Alyssa Phillips had 12 points for the Devils (1-0 NSC Lake, 2-3 overall). Lake Zurich is 0-1 and 2-5. Warren led 19-11 at the half.
Vernon Hills 54, Round Lake 23: Unbeaten Vernon Hills was led by Meri Bennett-Swanson (10 points, 5 boards), Alina Lehocky (10 points, 6 boards)< Sydney Smith (9 points, 6 boards) and Lauren Webb (9 points, 7 boards, 5 assists).
Lakes 46, Wauconda 35: Terese McMahon scored 17 points as the Eagles improved to 2-0 in the NSC Prairie. Lakes led 39-18 after three quarters. Lauren Nee had 14 for Wauconda (0-1 and 1-4).
Mundelein 40, Lake Forest 38: Maggie Maher scored 18 points and hit the game-winning three point shot with 34 seconds remaining to give Mundelein (1-5) a 40-38 victory over Lake Forest (2-5). Annie Keller had 16 points for the Scouts.
Zion-Benton 67, Stevenson 47: The Zee-Bees (4-1) led the Patriots (0-4) 25-24 at the break, but exploded in the second half to win this NSC Lake opener. Junior guard Sam Rodriguez led the Z-B charge, pouring in a game-high 27 points, with 18 coming on three-pointers. Kari Moffatt had a team-high 16 points for the Patriots.

Cary-Grove 53, Grayslake North 37: The Knights fell to 3-2 on the season with the non-conference loss.
