BOYS BASKETBALL

Warren 66, New Trier 60: The Devils (4-2) continued their early season surge under new coach Ryan Webber with a signature road win. “I can’t say enough of the efforts of our team. I thought that they were very committed. That is a great team. We grew up a little tonight,” said Webber. Adrian Deere had 20 points, 5 rebounds and 1 steal in the win. Dre Von Hill scored 16 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter.

CL South 63, Libertyville 57: Libertyville (1-4) got 20 points and 11 boards from Matt Varner in the loss.

Woodstock 36, Wauconda 35: The Bulldogs (1-5) got eight points from Dion Head and Ricky Didlowski, and nine from Austin Swenson in the loss.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Grant 58, Wauconda 34: Grant is 2-0 in the North Suburban Prairie. Kaitlyn Wold had 15 points and Kaylee Kanzler 12 for the winners.

Antioch 61, North Chicago 47: Paige Gallimore (19 points) and Megan Borries combined for 30 points for the winners. lFreshman Kelly Johnson and sophomore Carly McCameron came off the Antioch bench to score 10 and seven points respectively. Johnson pulled in 10 rebounds, while McCameron had seven rebounds and forced several NC turnovers with pressure defense. Antioch’s 5-3 overall, 1-0 in the NSC Prairie.

BOYS BOWLING

Vernon Hills Invite: Lake Zurich finished seventh, Vernon Hills ninth, Libertyville 11th, Deerfield 18th, and Stevenson 21st in the 24-team tourney which Andrew won. Eric Swanson of Vernon HIlls averaged 224.5 for six games and was second individually.

WRESTLING

Niles North Quad: Lakes beat Niles North 38-28, Elmwood Park 40-24, and Ottawa 48-38, and lost to Morton 46-21 and the Eagles are 6-2 on the season. Leading Lakes were David Gregory (160) and Kavan Mulloy (145), both of whom pinned all four of their opponents.

Wisconsin Lutheran Invite: Shoreland Lutheran earned its best-ever tournament finish with a third-place finish at the Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational. Japheth Patterson (106, 5-0 tournament, 5-1 overall) and Zach Brug (152, 5-0 tournament, 3 pins, 5-1 overall) won titles for Shoreland.
