If you’re interested in martial arts, the Long Sing Restaurant (2120 Green Bay Road/west side of the street, just south of Sunset) on the north side of Waukegan is the place to be from 6-9 on Friday night.
That’s when/where Gerry Cook’s Professional Martial Arts Studio of Waukegan will hold a free martial arts expo.
It’s being billed as “Warrior Night” and basically it’s a way for people of all ages to become familiar with the sport.
There will be demonstrations in forms, sparring, board-breaking, weapons, kickboxing, etc.
The public’s welcome and there is no charge for admission. Enjoy the matches, root for your favorites, and youngsters can see live action and learn what martial arts is all about. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
Cook, the area’s martial arts guru, is putting on the expo to further the education of the sport in the community.
