BOYS BASKETBALL

Cary-Grove 43, Carmel 42: The Corsairs (4-2) got 19 points from Nickai Poyser (five three-balls) and seven points from center Cullen Barr, but a 3-of-11 free-throw effort by the team proved costly.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Grayslake North 53, Woodstock North 38: This was a quality win for the Knights on Tuesday, as the Thunder played state-power Vernon Hills tough last month. Joanna Guhl (14) and Brittney Thibeaux (12) led Grayslake in scoring.

St. Charles North 45, Grayslake Central 40: The Rams played a big-school power tough on Tuesday. Alex Dahlstrom had 21 points for Grayslake.

Wauconda 44, Round Lake 29: Lauren Nee (14) and Dane Sturm (13) combined for 27 points as the Bulldogs logged their first NSC Prairie win.

Grant 59, LF Academy 36: Emily Kerr had 12 points and freshman Jasmine Sangster nine in the win.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS

Vernon Hills 13.1, Warren 130: Alli Tran averaged 9.325 in the all-around to lead Vernon Hills to the team win. She won vault (9.6) and bars (9.6). Warren’s Kelsey Stoecker and Vernon Hills’ Hannah McGreevy tied for first on beam (9.3) and McGreevy won floor (9.4). Becky Stochl of Warren had an 8.7 average in the all-around.

Mundelein 134.1, Libertyville 131.25: Mac Kehr won the all-around with a 9.05 average for the Mustangs. She also won vault (9.15) and floor (9.3). Libertyville’s Mariah Lee (9.35) won bars and her teammate, Morgan Dunleavy (9.1) won beam.

BOYS BOWLING

Vernon Hills 2,823, Evanston 2,198: Tuesday, Eric Swanson’s 217-193-237—647 led the winners.
