BOYS BASKETBALL
Wauconda 47, Woodstock North 30: On Monday, Austin Swenson (16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals) and Devon King (9 points, 6 boards, 5 blocks) led the 4-5 Bulldogs to a non-conference win.
Cary-Grove 61, Grayslake Central 59: The Rams were outscored 21-6 at the foul line in this loss to a quality opponent. Danny Reed had 17 points, Jack Spicer 11 and Alex Lennarz eight for Grayslake (1-6). C-G is 6-2.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Vernon Hills 66, Grant 43: The Cougars remained unbeaten as Sydney Smith (20 points, 8 boards, 6 assists) and Meri Bennett-Swanson (18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 steals) led the way.
Grayslake North 61, Johnsburg 34: Brittney Thibeaux had 15 points, Joanna Guhl 14,Emily Dugan 12, and Kendall Detweiler 11 for the winners. North bombed home seven three-pointers, including four from Dugan and three from Detweiler.
Libertyville 44, Mundelein 42: Dana Kym and Haley Hoeksel combined to go 6-for-6 from the foul line in the fourth quarter as the Cats earned a quality win. Kym had 16 points in the game and Hoeksel 10. “Getting a pressure win like this is a good step for our game,” said winning coach Greg Pedersen.
GIRLS BOWLING
Grayslake Central 2,359, Lakes 2,209: Josie Taylor had 516 for the winners, and Sam Potter had 513 for the Eagles.
BOYS BOWLING
Vernon Hills 3,054, Stevenson 2,781: Justin Onozato had 261-192-235—688 and Eric Swanson had 214-227-245—686 for the winners.
