Gurnee registering players for ’13 season

Gurnee Youth Baseball is now registering players for its 2013 inhouse spring program.

GYB focuses on every child having fun while learning to play the game. The program emphasizes teaching age-appropriate fundamentals of baseball, along with encouraging good sportsmanship so each child can have a positive experience.

The following leagues are open for registration (age is as of 07/31/13):

■ Shetland (age 6-7) — Focus on basic fundamentals, coach pitch, batting T’s available, no score kept.

■ Pinto (age 8) — Focus on basic fundamentals, machine pitch, no score kept.

■ Mustang (age 9-10)/Bronco (age 11-12)/Pony (age 13-14) — Focus on moderate/advanced fundamentals, player pitch, competitive play, balanced teams.

Weather permitting, the season starts with practices in April and games beginning in May. The season concludes approximately in mid- July.

New players must have a copy of their birth certificate on file with the league.
