Stevenson 58, St. Charles East 49: Stevenson sophomores Connor Cashaw scored 16 points, and the 6-foot-3 guard also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and shot 7-of-9 at the free-throw line in the win over St. Charles East in the Round of 16 at the Proviso West tourney.
Warren 53, Oak Park-River Forest 51: In Round 1 of the Pontiac tourney, Warren got 20 points, 6 boards and 4 assists from junior guard Adrian Deere. He shot 9-for-11 from the field. Aarias Austin scored the Blue Devils’ final nine points, finishing with 14.
St. Charles North 66, Waukegan 58: The Bulldogs beat St. Charles three weeks ago, but lost the rematch on Day 1 of the Pontiac tourney. DeVonte Taylor scored 19 points and had 10 rebounds for Waukegan (7-6), and senior Jordan Johnson added 18 points and six rebounds.
Thornwood 70, Grayslake Central 42: The Rams were thumped for the second day in a row at the Bloomington/Normal tourney. Jack Spicer had seven points, and Danny Reed and Joey Mudd six each in defeat.
Grayslake Central 57, Chilicothe IVC 51: In a later game Thursday, the Rams got on track with a win as Danny Reed scored 20 points.
Wauconda 51, Woodstock 41: At Marengo, Austin Swenson had 15 points, Ricky Sidlowski 14 and Dion Head 13 in the win.
Vernon Hills 58, Wheeling 49: In the consolation bracket at the Wheeling tourney, the Cougars won as Trenton Fulton had 14 points and nine rebounds.
Maine West 56, Libertyville 54 (ot): Jack Lipp had 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting for the Cats, who are now 0-2 in the Wheeling tourney and play Wheeling at 9 on Friday morning.
Highland Park 67, Hinsdale South 59: In the consolation bracket at Hinsdale South, David Sachs had 22 points to lead the Giants (5-8).
Lakes 71, Marian Central 44: The Eagles went 3-0 in pool play at Jacobs and will play in the tourney semifinals on Friday night. Earlier, Lakes routed Hope from Chicago and Jacobs.
Zion-Benton 62, CL South 48: The Zee-Bees went 2-1 in pool play at the Jacobs tourney.
Evanston 68, Lake Zurich 61: The Bears lost in the first round at the Pekin tourney.
Lake Forest 48, Matea Valley 45: The Scouts will next play Stagg Friday night in the semis at Hinsdale South.
North Chicago 81, Hononegah 79 (ot): The Hawks (12-1) are in the semis at the Bloomington/Normal tourney. JaVairius Amos-Mays had 25 points, Big Kurt Hall 19 before fouling out and JayQuan McCloud 19 as well.
Vernon Hills 44, Cary-Grove 33: On Day 2 of the Mundelein tourney, Meri Bennett-Swanson had a team-high 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Lauren Webb (11 points, eight boards), Alina Lehocky (nine points) and Sydney Smith (five points, seven rebounds, three steals) all chipped in for Vernon Hills (16-0).
Libertyville 55, Prairie Ridge 28: The Cats romped in the Mundelein tourney as Rosie Lynch and Darra Kym each had a dozen points.
Antioch 51, Chicago Latin 42: The Sequoits (12-4) are in the semis of the Lisle tourney as they handed Latin their first loss of the year. Paige Gallimore had a career-high 31 points, and put up her third double-double of the season with 11 rebounds. Gallimore also had 5 steals.
