Bosnak tourney a big success

The St. Patrick Knights of Columbus sponsored the 10th annual “Marcie Bosnak Basketball Tournament.”
Ten schools sent their fifth- and sixth-grade boys teams to St. Patrick School in Wadsworth to compete, with proceeds from the tourney going to support the St. Patrick Scholarship Fund.
The tournament is named after the school’s principal of 34 years, Marcella A. Bosnak, who will be retiring at the end of the school year.
In the fifth-grade bracket, St. Pat’s beat St. Joseph of Libertyivllle in the finals.
Members of the winning team were Nick Dietzen, Matt Furrer, Jayson Gaetano, Jack Mueller, Krystofer Selega, Ryan Williams, and Kyle Zupec. Keith Zupec is the coach.
The sixth-grade champs were St. Gilbert’s from Grayslake. The team is coached by Jim O’Brien, Dave Rennolds and Joe Guckenberer.
Team members are Johans Baladad, Dan Guckenberger, Austin Martineau, Michael Scott, Dan Rudman, Kevin O’Brien, Kyle Grawe, Adam Calhoun, Carter Price, Wes Kemming, Nic Murphy, Matt Rennolds, and Henry Galla.
