With tryouts/evaluations complete, a total of 16 teams have been set for the winter youth basketball program run through the Lindenhurst Park District.

There are six teams in the league for players in school grades 3-4, six more for grades 5-6, and four teams for grades 7-8.

All games will be played on Saturdays at the park district’s community center gym, and play will begin on July 26.

Teams also practice once a week.

The naming scheme for teams in the program is unique.

The oldest group team names are from the NBA; the middle group team names are from the Big Ten Conference; and the youngest group team names are from the high schools that surround Lindenhurst.
