The North Jr. Knights youth football and cheerleading program is a new non-profit club located in Grayslake.
An informational open house will be held on Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center, located just off Hook Drive.
Interested parents and prospective participants are encouraged to attend, as many of the club coaches will be in attendance.
The event will be hosted by the North Jr. Knights board of directors and club coaches.
The program goal is to promote the progressive development of youth football and cheerleading in a safe and positive environment.
The 2013 club season is slated to include:
■ Spring flag football
■ Spring 7-on-7 football
■ Cheerleading clinics
■Fall flag football camp
■ Tackle football,
■ Off-season conditioning workshops.
In addition to football, The Jr. Knights will also provide a cheerleading program for K-8 grade students.
To keep fees in line with surrounding community programs, certain costs for each participant will be supported through fund-raising efforts via spirit wear, sponsors and concessions.
Registration for fall football and cheer will include raffle tickets valued at $100 so parents may be able to defray some participation costs, if so desired.
Updated program details can be found at www.northjrknights.com.
