Area youth basketball coaching guru Tim Bowen is getting the August Skills Camp and Sunday Fall League organized for his Bowen Basketball B&B program.

Dates for the August Back To School Skills Camp are the weekends of Aug. 13-14, 20-21 and 27-28, with classes meeting from 7-9 p.m. each night in the fieldhouse at the College of Lake County in Grayslake.

The program is for boys and girls who will be in school grades 3-12 in the fall, and you don’t have to be the next LeBron James or Elena Delle Donne to participate.

The focus of the camp will be shooting and ball-handling.

Cost is $75 for the six sessions, or $30 for one weekend (Saturday/Sunday).

The Sunday Fall League will run for five afternoons at Carmel High School in Mundelein.

Bowen currently is the boys basketball coach at Carmel High School.

The league will feature one hour of skills work followed by one hour of competitive game situations on each Sunday.

Players will work with coaches on skill development and then on game development.

Cost for the league season is $100 per person, and the program is for boys and girls who will be in school grades 3-8 this coming fall.

Bowen’s program is a no-cut program.

Coaches will find a place for each player to play and be successful.
