Golf outing will support Literacy Volunteers of Lake County

The annual golf outing to support the Literacy Volunteers of Lake County will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Glen Flora Country Club in Waukegan. (Note: This is a course that Michael Jordan frequently plays).

The event starts with lunch at noon, a shotgun start for 18 holes of golf at 1:30, with dinner at 6:30 and awards/prizes at 7.

Cost is $190 per person, and $50 for dinner only. Hole sponsors are needed at a cost of $100 per hole.

Literacy Volunteers of Lake County Theis a community-based organization that utilizes volunteer tutors to help adults who need to improve their basic skills in reading, writing, math or speaking English.

The group teams up with the Waukegan Public Library and College of Lake County for assessments, training and tutor resources.

Swing clinic on Aug. 28

From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at White Deer Run Golf Club in Vernon Hills, Condell Medical Center’s physical therapy team will perform a FREE flexibility, grip and balance screening which will alert a golfer to movements that might be cause injury to the lower back, elbows, shoulders, or hands and wrists.

Golfers can questions answered during this free one-on-one consultation with the experts. Registration is not necessary, just stop by.
