The annual Gurnee Days 6.2-mile race and two-mile fun run/walk is set for this Saturday at Warren High School on O’Plaine Road.

The race starts at 7:30 a.m., and follows the Des Plaines River Trail system, with much of the race being held on the trails.

There is onsite registration at 6:30 a.m. Cost is $30 for the 6.2-mile race, $25 for the two-mile run and $15 for the two-mile walk.

The Libertyville Sports Complex will be the site of an outdoor 1.24-mile or 2.48-mile “Fun Run Obstacle Course Event” on Sunday at 8 a.m., combining a running event with on course obstacles.

There will be age divisions for youths, adults and seniors. Race-day registration is $35. All runners will be part of a Breakfast of Champions, receive a goodie bag, and there will be a live band entertaining runners and guests.

“Themed” race obstacles include Life’s a Beach, Hay Fever, Tire You Out, Stairway to Heaven, Survive a Large Inflatable Obstacle, Bleacher Bum and more.

The Libertyville Sports Complex is located on the corner of Peterson Road and Route 45 on the northwest side of Libertyville.

The Rally For Autism 3.1-mile run will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Independence Grove on Route 137, east of Route 21.
