Longtime supporters of Round Lake High athletics need to circle Saturday, May 14, on their calendars.

That’s when the induction ceremony/celebration will be held for the school’s Hall of Fame Class of 2011.

The banquet will be held at the magnificent Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center, and tickets for the evening will be on sale in school library beginning on April 11.

This is the third year for the Hall of Fame induction banquet, and Howard Conkling, longtime Round Lake High supporter and Hall of Fame committee chairman, said, “this is another great class we will be celebrating.”

The inaugural class was inducted in 2008, and a second class was honored in May of 2009.

Three teams will be honored at the banquet — the 1997 cross-country team, the 1985 wrestling team and the 1989-90 girls basketball team.

There also will be several individual athletes honored, along with longtime boys basketball coach Bob Ward, and other special Panther backers.
